I keep coming across beautiful color combinations on birds. Surprising combinations that complement & contrast. I’m sure this is where the idea for a “pop of color” comes from. I’ve chosen some of my favorite combinations for this week.*
Old Navy Joggers, Maurices Scoop Tank, Gliks Floral Ruffle Tank, Gliks Floral Laser Cut Blazer, Maurices Statement Necklace, & Toms Brogues.
This isn’t really anything groundbreaking, but I like it. It’s comfortable. It’s office appropriate. The touch of green doesn’t feel out of place amongst the floral, but still stands out.
Apt9 Pencil Skirt, Old Navy Tee Shirt, Gliks Blazer, Tights from Walmart, Franco Sarto Heels. I love a good chocolate & navy combo. The fuschia looks so vibrant against this. I added a little bit more pattern by rolling my blazer sleeves to expose more of the gold striped lining. This also looks particularly well with my Calvin Klein coat.
JLo for Kohls Trouser, Forever21 Sweater, Maurices Boots, & Maurices Statement Necklace. This is so classy. The yellow pops on the neckline without being garish or overwhelming.
Simply Vera for Kohls Skirt, Maurices Scoop Tank, Maurices Burnout Leopard Tee, American Eagle Jean Jacket, Franco Sarto Heels, Lucky Necklace, Aeropostale Necklace, Earrings – I can’t remember. This felt very cool. I love that the dirty denim picks up on the blues and browns. I did a little bun to show off my wooden earrings. I wish I could remember where I picked these up. Most of my jewelry is from Maurices, but I feel like I got these somewhere else. I almost think I got them from a catalog that my nephew was selling things from for a fundraiser. I feel like that must be the case or that is a very elaborate misremembering.
Old Navy Sweetheart Jeans, TJMaxx Plaid Button Down, Gliks Sweater, Toms Wedge Boots, Maurices Necklace & Earrings. A preppy little look for my birthday. Did some shopping & went out for lunch. Very comfortable without losing any style.
What I really like about these looks is how simple they actually are. There are very few pieces per look, but they don’t lose any depth or interest. I guess what they say is true, less is more.
*I know these aren’t all birds, but it’s mostly birds.
