If you haven’t seen Lady Gaga’s Tribute to David Bowie at the Grammys you’re missing out. Maybe because I’m just a casual fan of Bowie & Gaga (blasphemous, I know) I didn’t see anything wrong with her performance. I’m not too picky when it comes to music other than not much country & absolutely no Wagon Wheel by anyone. I feel like she’s the logical choice as no one else is reinventing themselves & innovating performance the way she is in the tradition of Ziggy Stardust, Halloween Jack, or the Thin White Duke. Her performance was my favorite of the night (sorry not sorry TSwift). I’m sort of surprised by her red carpet look & costumes only because she seems to be going through a bit of her own “Simplistics” phase. However, this is the Grammys where the freak flags fly & it makes sense to do something avant garde, recognizable, & iconic. Her Aladdin Sane garb was pretty fantastic.

In custom Marc Jacobs, a style icon in her own right, reminds us tonight she’s here for someone else.
Hope you don’t mind that I took a different angle with my Grammy blog. Other than Selena Gomez’s stunning Calvin Klein red carpet dress Lady Gaga was all I really enjoyed.

I just read that Lorde did a tribute at the Brit Awards. I’m intrigued to see how that went. I love her & would imagine it to be a less frantic approach.

I loved Gaga’s performance at the Grammy’s! Did you see her Oscar’s make up look? I loved that too, am thinking of recreating it for the blog.

She looked amazing at the Oscars & that performance was the most moving of the evening. Not a dry eye in the house.
