Challenge 5: New York & Company Sleeveless Blouse
This is a hand-me-down piece that I’ve had probably 2years. As I’ve said before I have several sleeveless blouses that I tend not to wear because of work. I’m always worried about getting too warm & not being able to take a layer off. This is nonsense because I always layer & I seldom get that warm.
Look 1: Maurices Sandals, Simply Vera for Kohls Skirt, Lauren Conrad for Kohls Blazer, Gliks Scarf
The blazer & scarf are lightweight so I didn’t get hot & sweaty. See! Nothing to worry about there. I like all the colors & they work together without overwhelming because they are all found in the scarf. That’s why these patterns work as well. The blouse colors are also found in the scarf & one of them is a neutral. I really like this look.
Look 2: TOMS Brogues, Banana Republic Pant, Old Navy Button Down, Charming Charlie Bracelet, Handmade Earrings
Mixing patterns again. The tiny minty dots mimic the larger dot pattern on the blouse. The earrings pull in the blue & green from both tops. Pretty cute, simple, easy ensemble.
Look 3: Sperrys, Maurices Cargos & Cardigan, Express Bracelet
I like this olive on olive look. It’s not something I would usually do, but I like the way the bright turquoise breaks it up & keeps it light.
Here’s the deal though, I really like all the ways I wore this blouse, but it doesn’t fit well. It’s too small in the shoulders & I don’t really foresee that changing. This will be the first piece to go. Feels kind of liberating!
