What!? Another OOTD!? I know, I’ve got some looks stocked up, but this one has some back to school bonus material!
My daughter has been saving her paychecks all summer (lifeguarding, swim lessons, helping out a few days with beginners swim team, & babysitting-yep, she’s been busy) & with school beginning Monday(!) she was ready for some back to school shopping.
I opted for a comfortable rockabilly look for our shopping day. Rockabilly has that combination of femininity/masculinity/preppy/grunge that I dig.
Bandana Headband: Claires / Flannel Tunic: F21 / Lace Bra: TJMaxx (brand unknown) / Skinny Jeans: Kancan / Crossbody Clutch: TJMaxx (brand unknown) / Bracelets: Charming Charlie / Sandals: TOMS
The Kancan skinny jeans are new. My Flying Monkey (both pair!) wore out. My Old Navy are just shy of my ankle so I needed a skinny with a tad more length. More red plaid stylings can be viewed here, here, & here.
My poor crossbody has bit the dust. As you can see in some of the pics the faux leather is flaking. I only use this occasionally so I hadn’t noticed, but every time I unzipped the pouch I ended up with gray flakes all over me. It has served me well & will be honored when I find a new crossbody equal to the task.
Back to the task at hand. I’m pretty impressed with my daughter. Maybe I shouldn’t have been surprised, but she had such intent on this shopping excursion. She came armed with research, a checklist, & cash budget. If it wasn’t on the list it wasn’t purchased. She knew she wouldn’t be able to check everything off in 1 trip so she also had purchases prioritized. Talk about editing, building, & curating a wardrobe!
She’ll have her license in less than 10 days so I had her drive for some extra city practice.
After a successful day of shopping we had a bed picnic dinner & cozied up with Lafayette for some Stranger Things.
As I said this was a successful day so stay tuned for a back to school haul & lookbook!
