Beauty: MOTD 4

To go with that white hot August blouse featured here I wanted to do a moody eye. I don’t like to be too matchy matchy when it comes to eye makeup & my clothes. I like something that complements my ensemble, but isn’t necessarily any color that’s in the clothing. Hence my green eye to go with my navy & orange trimmed blouse.

e.l.f Mineral Based Primer & Contour Palette / Clinique Even Better Foundation (Creamwhip) & Long Last Lipstick (Sugared Maple) / Covergirl Tru Minerals Powder (Light) / Benefit They’re Real! Mascara (Beyond Brown) / Almay Shimmer Shadow (Trio for Hazels) / Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black Fragrance

I tried out a new contour look using a touch of the bottom 2 shades. I try to use a fairly light hand because I’m concerned I’ll end up looking like a clown. I feel like I’m getting the hang of it, but its not really something I think is necessary on a daily basis. I used the eye trio exactly as depicted: lid, crease, brow.

I had a full size Elizabeth & James that I used up in the fall/winter. I switched to Marc Jacobs Daisy (read more about my daisy love here) for the spring/summer. I got this little guy with a Sephora purchase awhile back. I felt like this look had a bit of an edge & required a fragrance to match.

Elizabeth & James Nirvana Black is an addictive blend of alluring violet, sensual sandalwood, & rich vanilla that strike the perfect balance between masculine & feminine.

You know I love some m/f vibes (see here) & this really fits the femininity of my white blouse worn with the masculinity associated with bandanas. Even my hair was a mix; braid, mini knot, & loose waves. I worked that soft & hard edge into everything.
