I’ve really had fun playing with different palettes to create an everyday smokey eye. A few Fridays ago I nabbed my daughter’s maybelline blushed nudes palette.
- Coppery Shimmer (bottom #5) on lid
- Chocolate (bottom #2) in crease & outer v
- Dark Shimmery Chocolate (bottom #6) just inside outer v
- Bronze Shimmer (bottom #1) lashlines top & bottom
- Rosé (top #2) inner v
- Matte Taupe (top #5) on brow bone¹
As you see I also went with a bold lip. Very unlike me, but it came in the bite amuse bouche mini sampler from my haul, so I simply had to give it a swipe.
The minimalist velvety matte packaging has a very luxe look & feel. This small batch handcrafted lippie is made with 12 edible oils, triple milled pigments, & has a citrus flavor made from fresh pressed fruit. It is a bold creamy formula that requires a single swipe for full (mostly) precise application. It wasn’t drying & didn’t settle into cracks. I do think it requires a little bit of upkeep. I lost a lot on my morning coffee mug, but not terribly high maintenance. A bright red is a little scary, but I found this very flattering.
Not to brag² but I seriously love this especially how beautifully it worked with my H&M floral top & blanket scarf.

¹This is a pretty good dupe for Urban Decay Buck.
²Which means I’m about to be self indulgent.

Thanks! I’ve been trying to incorporate it in more often, but I’m so bad about touching up throughout the day. This doesn’t take a lot, but still.

It’s why I mostly wear longwearing reds that don’t need touching up until dinner time.
