It’s coming on Christmas
They’re cutting down trees
They’re putting up reindeer
And singing songs of joy and peace
I wish I had a river
I could skate away on
We were a little behind our normal house trimming, because we were hunting for a sturdy live tree. Unfortunately, we couldn’t find one that would work & was within our budget. Apparently due to latent effects of the 2008 economic crisis there is a Christmas tree shortage *insert Debbie Downer sound effect here.*
The chance of our cat assaulting our tree seems to be higher this year, so we were a little more discerning when choosing ornaments. Some of our more delicate ones are staying packed away this year *insert Debbie Downer sound effect here.*
Woes aside we started sprucing up & our tree still has its splash of gypsy whimsy.
Yes, we did add some southwest flair with a cactus & feather pattern garland. I wanted to go with florals, but for some reason my daughter was drawn to the cacti. Must be that whole succulent craze.
Instead of hanging our 3 snowflakes in the window, I added them to the front door believe wreath. It just needed extra.
Our ornament garland is ready for greeting cards from our friends & family.
Just like Joni says, we put up our reindeer. What she may not expect is our candy cane stripe flamingos. Perfect with the ever present IU stake. #hoosiers
It was a quite a fun day getting everything together & watching some of our favorite holiday movies.*
