At the beginning of February my daughter & I spent 2days in the windy city for college auditions. It was quite an experience. The last time we were in Chicago it was to visit the American Girl Store for her 8th birthday…in late summer. I’ve never been to Chicago in the winter & we were staying 2blocks off Navy Pier planning to walk to The Palmer House for auditions so we prepared for the worst. We did manage to walk nearly everywhere & not freeze. Thank goodness for doubled up socks & those hand warmer packs.
I packed as light as possible since we took the train up & were uber-ing to & from the station.
My attempt to pack light, but warm:
- Woolrich Coat
- Blanket Scarf & knit cap from Gliks
- Coach Crossbody
- Chooka Duck Boots
- Carhartt moisture wicking Socks
- Under Armour wool Socks
- Maurices Corduroy Skinnys & Blouse
- Mossimo Sweater
- Knit Top from The Gray Area Boutique
I also only had 1 set of travel clothes.
- Infinity Scarf from Carnaby Square
- Kancan Jeans
- Mumford & Sons Concert Shirt
- Levis Pearl Snap
I love that the back of this Neil-esque top has crisscross detail & that the floral lace panel gets to peek through.
Aside from eating & despite the weather we took in some sites; ice skating in Millennium Park, a nearly exclusive visit to Lincoln Park Zoo, & scoping out shops on Michigan Avenue.
Okay, so we mostly ate…it was delightful.
And I won’t make the mistake that I did with Ann Arbor, Chloe wore clothes too.
