Miscellanea June 18

I’ve been able to take a bit of a break this month so I’m getting more things watched. Basically I’m a couch potato.

I finished the Versace series finally. Darren Criss creeped me out & irritated me so much that we couldn’t binge it. I mean this as a compliment to his acting because Andrew Cunanan was a messed up dude.

Search Party season 2 was just as digestible as the first. I watched the 10 half hour episodes in 1 sitting without really realizing it. Where the first season had a whole hipster Nancy Drew vibe this had a more suspenseful paranoid noir quality about it.

I delved into The Keepers this month as well. If you want to become infuriated at the level of corruption of the Catholic church & Baltimore pd this is the ticket. Ugh, I loved it.

I watched a couple of movies. Game Night was super funny.

And in a totally different direction, Call Me By Your Name is delectable. I have a lot of mixed feelings about Armie Hammer. There is a lot going on in the quiet corners of this movie & I’m definitely going to have to read the book. I just want more, I want more, I want more, I want more.

We went to the Garden of the Gods in southern Illinois. It was a great afternoon of hiking.

Tried myself a Monte Cristo sandwich from Haute Wheels food truck while at this year’s Pheasant Hollow Winery Fest.

I’ve also been trying out some new fresh summer recipes. The zucchini & sweet corn pizza on a quinoa crust with a balsamic drizzle was delish.

She ended up doing a choir camp. Love seeing this girl on the stage.

Politics aside these kids need comforting. I’ve got a package of stuffed animals & cards ready to ship Monday.

14 married years with this guy. He loves it when we take pictures together.
