Wow, I have watched a lot of stuff this month. Home Again, Book Club, & I Feel Pretty were all really good. Like surprisingly good.
Suburbicon was alright. I had it figured out early on though. Sierra Burgess is a Loser while mostly adorable & feel good was pretty problematic. Spoilers, she shouldn’t have gotten off so easy in the end. I get it Love, Simon is a HUGE step in the right direction, but I honestly didn’t connect with it very much. I think that may have disappointed my daughter, but it really was just okay imo.
Castle Rock was a dark ride. I cannot wait for season2. Emmys must be given to Bill Skarsgard? Sarsgaard? Skarsgard, Melanie Lynskey, & Sissy Spacek.
I finally watched the first season of The Handmaid’s Tale & boy did it wreck me. I’ve always been a fan of Alexis Bledel, but I was just blown away by her. This scene has haunted me.
We saw Ed Sheeran for a 3rd time! He chatted way more than the other times which was pleasant. The encore just keeps getting better. Forever my love.
The actual Fire Watch short story that ties to the Oxford Time Travellers was pretty good. I had to put the book down after reading To All My Darling Daughters. I DO NOT reccomend anyone looking up that story. It has seeped into my unconsciousness causing me extreme upset. So much that I didn’t even want to touch the book to return it to the library.
The Fire Watch story fit perfectly into All Clear & I’m glad to have finished up this series. I won’t be picking up Connie Willis again. I wanted to like her so much, but I just found it too dense.
I only got a few chapters into this. I just couldn’t get into it. Possibly because I didn’t care for the narrator, but mostly because I wasn’t connecting to the character at all.
Found 2 yoga class podcasts on spotify. They have been so useful.
Tried out a new drive thru coffeehouse where I work. They’re having Harry Potter themed drinks all October so there goes my money.
So other than my beach trip I basically laid low this month.
