Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.

I took a Saturday afternoon to rearrange my closet for the fall/winter. I pulled everything out so I could remove anything that I haven’t been wearing or didn’t feel fit my fall fashion vibes. This also gave me a chance to reorganize a little.
I started off with items I can’t wear to work. This consists of a distressed jean, my beloved romper, a hoodie (safety issue & has a sports logo), & my concert/sports/slogan tees. These will live at one end of my closet. Handy, but not the first items my eyes will land on.
Moving onto work appropriate items. I’m starting with dresses. I pulled out 1 maxi that has stretched out straps. It’s great as a summer coverup, but not for everyday wear anymore. I also pulled 3 dresses that I don’t find myself reaching for anymore. Found this sweater dress when I pulled my winter items out, so of course it will live with the other dresses.
I separated my bottoms into 2 categories: high waist & not. First up the high waist. I did decide to let the other black maxi go; the bleach damage was way worse than I remember. I also pulled my F21 two tone leggings out of the drawer because they really fit more like a skinny trouser similar to my plaid pair. I think I’ll get a lot more wear out of them if they’re on hand.
2 revelations when organizing the rest of my pants:
- I own a lot of jeans.
- That Wes Anderson color palette is stronger than ever.
Up next, tops. I decided to organize these a little differently:
- Work logo shirts (not pictured)
- T shirts, various sleeve length
- Statement Tops
- Button Downs (+the polka dot top I only layer with them)
- Jumpers (sweatshirts/sweaters)
After the 28day diary I really thought I was wearing more than 20% of my wardrobe, but now I’m not so sure. Perhaps this switch up will reinvigorate my wardrobe or perhaps it will allow me to let things go.
