Saturday was resplendent with class🤣
We started off our day at Jovalou.
The Bloody Mary spicy & the coffee dark, but filled with sugar. Like her soul.
We traveled over to the Lou for showroom shopping at Ikea. We got lots of inspo for my daughter’s college rental for next fall. Then did some serious damage at Sephora at the West County Mall. We didn’t spot Lush until we were leaving, so a return trip will definitely be required. Then we hit up Panera for an early dinner & Trader Joe’s for snacks.
We’d gotten all gussied up to eat snacks & drink canned wine on the lawn before the Opera Theatre of St Louis’s production of The Marriage of Figaro.
I kept it streamlined with my she + sky romper paired with beast fashion sandals & leather earrings.
It’s been awhile since I’ve worn this romper on it’s own & I could really feel a difference in the fit. I always felt confident & comfortable in it before, but it’s nice to have those unexpected non scale realizations that I’m making progress on my wellbeing journey.
I amped up my makeup a smidge since I’d kept the ensemble basically accessory free.

If you’re new to the opera like we were & nearby St Louis I can’t recommend this experience enough. The lawn is open to picnickers 2hours prior to the performance. The atmosphere was very relaxed, but the seasoned patrons did not come to play.
They offer a brief introduction to the material if you’re not sure what you’ve gotten yourself into or you can continue enjoying the fresh evening air until curtain. The tickets are reasonably priced & the space is very intimate. Not a bad seat in the house.
We seriously enjoyed ourselves, but at a runtime of 3hours plus a 28min intermission (in which people mingle in the twilight) after a full day shopping & impending 2hour drive home we could not hang.
Which is extremely unfortunate because there is a complimentary champagne toast under the stars with the stars following the performance.
We learned our lesson not to have such a full day beforehand. Also, booking a hotel may not be out of the question.
*I borrowed this from my daughter’s ipsy collection. My mascara was out hence the Sephora splurge.
