Dinner & drinks with these dolls 💖
Lovely day for a hen adventure. We started off at Firefly (definitely going to drag my husband there), tried our hand at painting at Stang Arts, rv’d out to Tuscan Hills Winery, & finished off the day with lakeside cocktails at Pinky’s*.
It was apparently Descendants Week so we watched the second & third movies because RIP Cameron Boyce.
We also said goodbye to a show I can barely believe aired on Disney. A teen pregnancy!? An unwed couple living together!? An Asian American Family!? An openly gay kid!? Talk about knocking it out of the park Andi Mack!
Finally introduced my daughter to the Cohen’s. Sorry to everyone that loved Marissa Cooper, but we were counting down the episodes until her death. The show is so much better without that character dragging everybody down.
The Sunday before her big move we had a family night with Justin’s famous “homemade” enchiladas. Now, if only we could have convinced him to go see Dora! I’m not kidding, that looks like a fun movie.
Um, Into the Spider Verse is a real treat. This sparked additional nights spent watching Spiderman Homecoming & Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Yes, TMNT movies from the 90s. It makes sense, I promise.
Wrapped up season3 of Handmaid’s. I read a couple things about this season lacking, but I didn’t think so.
It was at least an hour into The Guernsey Literary & Potato Peel Pie Society before I saw one of those famous cows (my murderinos will know what I’m talking about). I didn’t realize what this movie was about. I thought I was in for a lighthearted romantic comedy, but it was something more. Very touching, definitely recommended.
I think I need to watch Russian Doll again. Like I get it, but I don’t know if I get it???
GIVE ALL THE AWARDS TO MICHELLE WILLIAMS!!!
No Man’s Land is 6episodes delving into the lives & contributions of some badass women you probably haven’t heard about. I think I listened to them all in a day. There was some interesting stuff there.
I started The Fall Line after hearing one of the hosts guest on Murder Squad. There are 5 seasons. I’ve only listened to 3. This team is doing some really incredible work.
I told my manicurist I want this, but with a bear.
And voilá! A cutesy back to school mani. #bearup
Followed the cutest bear ever up with bold splices.
One part Jasper Fforde one part Connie Willis (To Say Nothing of the Dog vibes) with a dash of witchcraft. The Rise & Fall of D.O.D.O. is narrated by a cast of characters through diaries, memos, emails, & powerpoint presentations. It’s a clever bit of work. It is work though, at 24hours long, the audiobook was difficult to take breaks from because I was enjoying the story so much. Which meant I had to find time to devote time to listening. Totally worth it though.
Daisy Jones & The Six played out like an authentic VH1 Behind the Music. I sort of forgot it wasn’t about a real band. I enjoyed the story & I can’t wait to see what Reese Witherspoon’s production company does with it.
It has been a crazy full month. I didn’t really realize how full until I put this together. Don’t get your hopes up, September may be slower. I mean, read my blog, it’s mildly interesting!
