Getting ready to hit the road for another adventure!
This time to DC. Yes, in January! Fingers crossed it’s not miserably cold.
I should be prepared though if it is. I figure if my daughter & I bared Chicago in snow/sleet/rain right off the pier in February than I can handle whatever weather DC has.
I’m going with athleisure looks for most of our daytime activities & dressed up denim for any nighttime shenanigans.
My friend knit a cool slouchy cap perfect for the cold weather. Yes, you read correctly, Whitney knit this cap for me. Of course, it was a jumping off point for my color scheme.
I’d had my eye on this puffy coat & after decluttering at least 1 thought, might as well buy this weather resistant number.
This all also happens to perfectly match Elizabeth Warren’s campaign palette. We may get to do the White House tour. Obviously I had to be prepared with a Warren shirt. Actually, all my shirts have a message. It’ll be like a little campaign of graphic ts.
Over Thanksgiving weekend we took a quick shopping trip & I happened upon more scarves at H&M. It was very difficult to not buy them all. I think I made the right choice though as it compliments my Women for Warren shirt.
Over Chloe’s winter break on our Little Women movie day I realized she would have all the luggage at school meaning no trusty swim bag this round. We took a detour to TJ Maxx so I could look for a new bag. I found a lightweight Kenneth Cole for under $100.
Chloe’s only a little jealous that I bought myself a rolling carryon after years of refusing to purchase one for her multiple scholastic trips. I’ll admit after Cabo, I was tired of lifting that bag up, but it did it’s job.
I also found a Karl Lagerfeld backpack for under $40. Clearly I needed a new handbag.
I’m all set. Now just to keep from packing too early!
